However, their chauvinistic attitude often lands them in hilarious situations.

Synopsis[edit source]
The film begins with Venky (Venkatesh Daggubati) and Varun (Varun Tej) getting caught by police and interrogated by an officer Viswanath (Nassar Muhammad), then Venky narrates his past, as his marriage is made by a bureau with Harika (Tamannaah Bhatia). In the beginning, his marital life is enjoyable but later on, Harika takes advantage of Venky and starts torturing him. To his misfortune, his life takes another loop when Harika's sister Honey (Mehreen Pirzada) enters into their house and creates more trouble. Now, Varun starts narrating his own story, he is a happy-go-lucky youth who loves Honey a lot helps her win cultural fest in her college. Here, Venky observes an incident of Varun and Honey hugging and then challenges Harika's family that if he could prove Honey has a boyfriend, all of their family must become his slaves and somehow he does it. But Harika's family manipulates and covers it up because they already knew about it. Despite Venky's warnings, Varun moves on with marriage arrangements. After six days, numerous frustrating incidents take place caused by Honey and Harika, then Venky and Varun escape with Venky's neighbor Prasad (Rajendra Prasad) when Venky proves that he has two families and is not able to bear the torture of his two wives. Venky, Varun and Prasad leave to Europe. There they find that Harika and Honey have moved on and are marrying other people in order to teach Venky and Varun a lesson. Reception[edit source]
Critical response[edit source]
Y Sunita Chowdhary of The Hindu wrote "This family drama’s appeal stems from good casting. Venkatesh plays his comic part to perfection consistently and capitalises on Ravipudi’s dialogues with great timing and flourish. One is reminded of his glorious projects in the past. Varun Tej also impresses".[12] Firstpost gave 3.5 out of 5 stars stating "F2 manages to entertain quite a lot and it's well-intentioned. It wants men to understand the importance of saying ‘sorry’ and ‘I love you’ when it matters the most. In the film, Venky and Varun might have learned their lesson the hard way, but they do unravel the secret to a life of happiness — that you don’t have to learn Venky Aasan, but just follow when Pradeep says right from the beginning till the end — Anthega Anthega".[13] The Times of India gave 3.5 out of 5 stars stating "Give it a go for Venkatesh, who saves this film from sinking into oblivion. But give it a cold hard miss if outdated humour and gender tropes are not your cup of tea".[14]
Idlebrain.com gave 3.5 out of 5 stars stating "F2 has a lot of fun (first half) and a little frustration (second half). On a whole, F2 is worth a watch for its comedy quotient!".[15] The Times of India gave 3.5 out of 5 stars stating "It might make you laugh if you leave your brains at home, but such an assumption is unlikely to work for the 21st century".[16] The Hans India gave 3.75 out of 5 stars stating "If you like family entertainers, then this movie is for you".[17]
Box office[edit source]
F2 grossed ₹18 crore on the opening day in AP and Telangana, and ₹40 crore worldwide.[18] By the third weekend, the film raked in $2 million at the United States box office.[19] By the end of its full theatrical run, the film grossed more than ₹127.2 crore worldwide and end up as one of the highest grossing film of that year.[3]
Sequel[edit source]
After the success of F2, Director Anil and Producer Dil Raju are planning for a sequel named F3. Apart from Venkatesh and Varun Tej, they are planning to rope in another hero to join F3.[20] However in April 2020, Anil Ravipudi clarified that there is little space for third hero in the sequel.[9]
